Gunhild Hoogensen Gjørv
Gunhild Hoogensen Gjørv is a professor of peace and conflict studies specializing in security studies and international relations at the Arctic University of Norway (UiT). She is also the Nansen Professor at the University of Akureyri in Iceland. Gjørv was one of the experts on the Afghanistan Committee that assessed Norway’s involvement in Afghanistan. She was also among the first recipients of the Fulbright Arctic Initiative research grant, a program aimed at promoting increased international collaboration on Arctic challenges. Gjørv holds several board positions, including at the Research Council of Norway, the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, and the International Arctic Research Committee. She is also the author of the book “Understanding Civil-Military Interaction: Lessons Learned from the Norwegian Model,” published in 2014.
