Thorgeir Kolshus
Thorgeir Kolshus is a social anthropologist and the head of the Diversity Studies Section at OsloMet. He has previously been an associate professor and adjunct professor at the Department of Social Anthropology, University of Oslo. He earned his doctorate in 2007 from the same institution, with a thesis on the interaction between religion and politics based on over two years of ethnographic fieldwork on the island of Mota, located at the northernmost part of the Vanuatu archipelago in the southwestern Pacific. Kolshus is an active disseminator of academic and research knowledge on various platforms, having contributed as a columnist to Dagens Næringsliv and Aftenposten. He utilizes his expertise in the Pacific to provide insights into developments in this geopolitically significant part of the world and as a basis for comparisons and perspectives on Norwegian affairs.
